Discovering Relationships Using Music - Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes & Thoughts

Jana Broder, founder of Drum Magic, LLC based out of the Tampa Bay area of Florida, became the first DRUMBEAT accredited facilitator in the Unites States of America on August 30th, 2013.

The highly successful DRUMBEAT Program was developed by Holyoake, a drug and alcohol treatment service, in Australia in 2003 as an early intervention program using rhythm for young Aboriginal men who felt alienated from the community. Today, DRUMBEAT, “Discovering Relationships Using Music - Beliefs, Emotions, Attitudes & Thoughts,” reaches adults and youth across Australia in a variety of setting such as; schools, youth services, drug and alcohol treatment centers, child protection facilities, children’s hospitals, refugee trauma associations, and prisons.

“This is a great addition to the programs we already provide with Drum Magic,” explains Broder. “The DRUMBEAT Program comes to the U.S. with a wealth of solid research and ten years of real-world experience behind it ensuring highly effective and very positive results when working with at-risk youth.” Drumming with at-risk youth is nothing new to Jana Broder and Drum Magic who provide facilitated drum circles in youth detention centers in Florida on a regular basis. Broder continues, “We are excited to be part of the DRUMBEAT Program and look forward to bringing this powerful program to large numbers of youth and adults in the U.S.”
